You don't have to
navigate this
alone.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck in transition, or carrying something heavy—there's room for you here. Therapy is a place to slow down, breathe, and begin finding your way forward.

How I Can Help

Life can feel unsteady sometimes. I work with adults who are navigating difficult seasons and looking for a safe place to sort things through.

Life Transitions

Career changes, relocation, relationship shifts, or any season where you feel untethered from what you knew.

Grief & Loss

Loss doesn't follow a timeline. Whether recent or long-carried, grief deserves space to be felt and honored.

Anxiety & Overwhelm

When your mind won't stop racing and your body feels on edge, we'll find grounded ways to quiet the noise.

Aging & Later Life

Navigating identity, purpose, and meaning in later chapters—without the pressure to have it all figured out.

My Approach

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a real relationship—not a clinical exercise. We'll work together at a pace that feels right for you, with curiosity instead of judgment.

My approach is collaborative and personalized. That means I don't follow a script. I listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and help you connect the dots in a way that feels meaningful and manageable.

About Michelle

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

I'm Michelle Brown, and I've been sitting alongside people in their hardest moments for over fifteen years. Before I was a therapist, I was a person who needed one—so I understand how vulnerable it can feel to reach out for the first time, or to try again.

My practice is rooted in genuine care and deep respect for each person's story. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Instead, I get to know you—what matters to you, what's been hard, and what you're hoping for—and we build from there.

I specialize in working with adults through life transitions, grief, anxiety, and the emotional complexity of aging. My style is warm but honest. I'll never just nod and reflect—I'll be an active, thoughtful partner in your process.

When I'm not in session, you'll find me hiking the trails around Boulder, reading in a coffee shop, or spending time with my family. I believe that staying connected to the things that ground us is part of what makes us better humans—and better healers.

Areas of Focus

These are the spaces where I can sit with you. You don't need to have the right words—just a willingness to show up.

Life Transitions

Change—even wanted change—can feel disorienting. Whether you're stepping into a new career, moving through a relationship shift, or simply feeling like the ground beneath you has shifted, it's normal to feel unsteady.

Together, we'll make sense of what you're moving through and find ways to anchor yourself—not by rushing to the next chapter, but by honoring where you are right now.

This might be for you if:

  • You're going through a major life change and feel lost
  • You're struggling to adjust to a new role or identity
  • You want support navigating uncertainty with more clarity

Grief & Loss

Grief doesn't follow a neat path. It can show up as sadness, anger, numbness, or all of them at once. It doesn't come with instructions, and there's no right way to do it.

I'll walk alongside you in grief—without rushing you or trying to fix it. Loss deserves a witness, and you deserve space to feel what you feel without someone telling you to move on.

This might be for you if:

  • You've lost someone and feel stuck in the pain
  • You're carrying a loss that others don't seem to understand
  • You want a space to grieve without pressure or timeline

Anxiety & Depressive Disorders

When your mind is always spinning—replaying conversations, anticipating the worst, or feeling like you can't catch your breath—it can be exhausting. You might look fine on the outside, but inside, you're running on fumes.

In our work together, we'll learn what your anxiety is trying to tell you, develop tools that actually help, and create more room to breathe. Not to eliminate anxiety entirely, but to stop letting it run the show.

This might be for you if:

  • Your mind races and you can't seem to slow it down
  • You feel emotionally overloaded but push through anyway
  • You want practical, grounded ways to find calm

Aging, Caregiving & Later-Life Support

Getting older brings a unique mix of wisdom, loss, and change. You might be rethinking what matters, navigating shifting relationships, or facing feelings that are hard to name.

This is a space to explore what this chapter means to you, find language for what you're experiencing, and move through the emotional complexity of aging—whether that’s navigating family relationships, caregiving, or redefining what purpose looks like now.

This might be for you if:

  • You're navigating identity and meaning in later life
  • You're facing health concerns or loss of independence
  • You want support finding purpose and peace
  • You're navigating difficult or emotional conversations with family
  • You're caring for a partner and are curious about holistic support

My Ethos

Therapy doesn't have to be intimidating. Here's what it actually looks like when we work together.

We Work Together

This isn't me giving advice from across the room. It's a genuine partnership. We'll set goals together, check in on what's working, and adjust as we go. Your voice matters here.

Tailored to You

No two people are the same, so no two therapy experiences should be. I draw from several approaches—mindfulness, narrative work, and somatic awareness—based on what resonates with you.

Grounded & Real

I won't use jargon that makes you feel more confused. I'll meet you where you are with warmth, honesty, and respect. We'll go at a pace that feels safe and sustainable for you.

Therapy isn't about fixing what's broken. It's about creating space for what's true—and finding your way forward from there.

Getting Started

Reaching out is often the hardest part. Here's what you can expect so it feels a little less unknown.

1

Reach Out

You can schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation through the link below, or send me an email. No pressure, no commitment—just a conversation to see if we're a good fit.

This step alone takes courage. I'm glad you're here.

2

First Session

In our first session, we'll talk about what brought you here, what you're hoping for, and get a feel for each other. There's no right or wrong way to begin—I'll guide us through.

Think of it as an introduction, not an intake exam.

3

Build Our Work

Over time, we'll develop a rhythm that works for you. We'll explore patterns, practice new tools, and check in regularly about how things are going. You set the pace.

I'll be an active partner—not a silent observer.

4

Notice the Shifts

Change often happens gradually—in the way you respond to stress, relate to others, or see yourself. We'll celebrate those shifts, even the small ones, together.

Healing isn't linear, but you won't be walking it alone.
